Two charged following Broadmeadows affray

Police have charged two people following an alleged affray in Broadmeadows last month.

Police responded to reports of an altercation between two groups in a Pascoe Vale Road carpark about 7.20pm on 10 October, before the incident allegedly spilled into a nearby shopping centre.

An 18-year-old Mill Park man was arrested on 28 October and charged with multiple offences including two counts of affray, possessing a prohibited weapon, committing an indictable offence while on bail, and publishing material about the commission of a relevant offence. He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on 20 November.

A 17-year-old boy from the Banyule area was also arrested after police executed a search warrant.

He was charged with affray, possessing a prohibited weapon and imitation firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, publishing material about the commission of a relevant offence, incitement, failing to comply with a direction, and possessing cannabis. He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Two Epping men, aged 18 and 21, were also arrested and released pending summons.
