Troy Cassar-Daley to headline Whittlesea Country Music Festival

Some of Australia’s finest country music singers and songwriters will be out in force in Whittlesea next weekend for the annual country music festival.

This year’s Whittlesea Country Music Festival line-up will be headlined by one of Australia’s most awarded country music singers, Troy Cassar-Daley.

He will be joined by Tania Kernaghan, Paul Costa and Jetty Road.

Local performers Yolanda and Yasmin Absolom from Flaxxon and Caitlin Thomas will also take to the stage throughout the weekend. The festival will kick-off on Friday, February 8 with a free opening party at the Whittlesea Bowls Club featuring Kernaghan.

The fun will continue on Saturday at 10am with a street festival featuring buskers, horse and cart rides and face-painting.

A free twilight concert will be held at the Whittlesea cricket grounds from 4pm, with Cassar-Daley taking to the stage. The night will conclude with a fireworks display.

Festival vice president David Watson said the Whittlesea Country Music Festival was the perfect summer event.

“Securing outstanding Australian country music talent like Troy Cassar-Daley and Tania Kernaghan has been a big achievement for our festival. There was plenty of buzz and excitement on social media by music fans when we announced Troy and Tania would be performing,” he said.
