Detectives have charged three children following an alleged high-speed incident in a stolen car through the western and northern suburbs of Melbourne this morning.
An allegedly stolen white Mercedes sedan was spotted by police on Melbourne Road, Spotswood, about 2:20am.
Police believe the vehicle was stolen from Northcote between May 25 and 26.
With the assistance of the Air Wing, police tracked the Mercedes across Werribee, Laverton, Point Cook, Tullamarine, Fawkner, Thomastown, Reservoir, Bundoora and Kingsbury.
Police will allege the Mercedes reached speeds of up to 230km/hour.
The Mercedes was abandoned on The Fairway in Kingston where the youths fled on foot before being arrested nearby.
A 14-year-old Heidelberg Heights boy sustained a minor injury from a dog bite. He declined medical treatment.
He was charged with theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct endanger life, speed dangerous, dangerous driving and unlicensed driving.
A 14-year-old Hastings girl was charged with theft of motor vehicle.
A 14-year-old Reservoir boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct endanger life, speed dangerous, dangerous driving and unlicensed driving.
They were all bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
