A Thomastown man was allegedly slashed across the face during an armed robbery in Glenroy overnight.

Police have been told the man arrived at an Apsley Street address to make a delivery when he was approached from behind by a man about midnight.

The unknown man, who was brandishing a sharp weapon, threatened the 22-year-old pizza delivery driver and struck him to the face causing a deep laceration from his mouth to his ear.

The offender was last seen running from the area with the victim’s wallet.

A search of the area by police failed to find the man they were looking for.
