It’s time to get baking, put the finishing touches to your needlework, and select your favourite flowers because the Whittlesea Show is less than two weeks away.
The annual show will take over the Whittlesea Showgrounds on November 3-4, celebrating the Whittlesea community.
The theme for this year’s show is 100 years since the end of World War I, and Whittlesea Agricultural Society secretary Tracey Goss expects to see a lot of poppies entered in this year’s homecraft competitions.
The show will feature the traditional horticulture and craft exhibitions, as well as live bands, a display by the Whittlesea Township Motorcycle Club, sheep shearing demonstrations, showjumping and rides.
There will also be a grand parade at 3pm both days.
Ms Goss said the show, which is in it’s 159th year, was a great day out for the family.
Among the exhibitors will be pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Whittlesea.
All of the school’s 300 pupils have entered the show’s junior handcraft competitions.
