Hume’s Tai Chi program commences next month at the Homestead Community and Learning Centre in Roxburgh Park.

Hume council team leader of facility partnerships and activation Francesca Carlton said people practice the ancient form for many reasons.

“Tai Chi is practiced as a mediative movement to relive stress, improve balance, increase strength, and reduce the risk of falling,” she said.

“It is suitable for all ages and can be practiced seated or standing.

“The purpose of Tai Chi is to improve your health and wellness.”

The Tai Chi program commences on February 6 and there are a number of classes available for all levels.

If Tai Chi isn’t your cup of tea, the Homestead offers a number of physical wellbeing programs to support social connection, health and wellbeing. Programs include, a women’s dance mediation group, a fit and strong program, a walking group, and belly dancing group.
