Year seven students from St Monica’s College in Epping welcomed grandparents and special friends to their school to watch them at work.
Spanning across two days, the special invitation is one of the exciting calendar days of the first term for year seven students.
Guests were treated to a presentation from principal Brian Hanley, a tour of the college including the students’ homeroom, a special musical performance from the students and morning tea.
Mr Hanley said the day is a highlight for the students.
“Year seven is an exciting time as the students progress from primary to secondary education and there is genuine excitement as they have the opportunity to welcome their grandparents on campus,” he said.
“The students have also made a gift to present to their grandparents at the end of the tour.
“Students take their grandparents into their classrooms, meet their teachers, inspect the general college facilities and then celebrate with morning tea.”
More than 300 grandparents and special friends accepted the invitation to join in on the celebrations across the two days.
