Speeding P-plater’s car impounded

A P-plater has lost his car after he was detected driving at 168km/h in an 80km/h zone in South Morang on Sunday.

Police detected a silver Honda travelling at high speed along Plenty Road about 11.20pm.

The car was intercepted and the driver, a 21-year-old from Fawkner, was interviewed for conduct endangering life, conduct endangering serious injury and other offences.

The car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $895.
