South Morang man charged over drugs and weapon

A 34-year-old South Morang man has been charged after police allegedly found drugs and a weapon during a compliance search.

Echo Taskforce detectives executed a Firearm Prohibition Order compliance search at a Darius Terrace address on Tuesday morning (April 5).

They seized cocaine, steroids, prescription drugs, an extendable baton and credit cards.

The man has been charged with possessing cocaine, possessing prescription drugs, possessing a schedule 4 poison without authority, possessing a prohibited weapon, negligently dealing with the proceeds of crime, the unlawful possession of audio or audio visual police recording and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He will appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court today (April 5).
