Seniors Festival calendar

The Victorian Seniors Festival is set to return this October, lighting up the Hume and Whittlesea regions with a host of free and low-cost events celebrating positive ageing and community connection.

The events kick off Wednesday, October 1 and run all the way through the month until Friday, October 31.

The month-long festival brings concerts, tours, social activities and cultural experiences right to the doorstep of older residents living in the north.

The Victorian Seniors Festival is backed by the state government in partnership with local councils, community groups and cultural organisations to recognise the contribution of seniors, encouraging them to take part in activities close to home and across the state.

Take part in some of the fun with these upcoming events:

– Seniors Festival official opening and morning melodies – Broadmeadows Town Hall, 10 Dimboola Road, Broadmeadows

Tuesday, September 30 to Wednesday, October 1.

Enjoy the official launch of the 2025 Victorian Seniors Festival with a one-and-a-half-hour live performance by Jen and the Cocktail Crew. Seniors Card required for entry; it’s a free event.

-Exploring Hume’s civic collection – Hume Civic Collection Store, 44 Macedon Street, Sunbury

Sunday, October 14, 5pm to 8pm

Enjoy a guided tour by a museum collections specialist, learning about Sunbury’s local history and heritage collections. Refreshments are provided; bookings essential.

-Historic cemeteries of Hume tour – Starting at Broadmeadows Museum, 37 Pearcedale Parade, Broadmeadows

Friday, October 19, 10am to 4pm
