Labor’s Ros Spence will be the first MP to represent the new seat of Kalkallo.
Ms Spence was elected to state Parliament in 2014 as Yuroke MP. A boundary redistribution in 2020-21 resulted in changes to the electorate and it being renamed as Kalkallo.
As of Sunday afternoon, Ms Spence has secured 55 per cent of first preference votes, with 65 per cent of votes counted.
On a two-party-preferred basis, Ms Spence leads Liberal candidate Bikram Singh 67 per cent to 33 per cent.
The electorate recorded a 3.9 per cent swing towards the Liberals.
