Residents in the north should look out for roadworks this week that could cause delays.

The Department of Transport has advised of a number of works taking place this week and throughout the month.

Access will be restricted to Plenty Road and Kingsbury Drive, Bundoora, on Sundays to Thursdays, 8pm-5am until late-November.

The department said workers will carry out asphalt and signalling works, and construct three raised pedestrian crossings on Kingsbury Drive.

The department is advising motorists to expect delays and that detours will be in place.

Emergency services, heavy vehicles, La Trobe University traffic and public transport vehicles will be given priority passage.

Meanwhile, works on the Craigieburn Road upgrade will mean lane closures will be in place on the Hume Highway near the Craigieburn Road intersection between 7:30pm and 5:00am on Thursday, November 11.

The department said the works will include light pole removal and relocation and advised drivers to allow for extra time.

The Edgars Road Altona-bound entry ramp to the M80 Ring Road will be closed until Saturday, December 11, as workers undertake ramp works.

The department said a detour is available via Mahoneys Road or Edgars Road.
