Victorians will have more freedoms from midnight tonight.

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced easing of restrictions for Victorians, effective from 11.59pm tonight, Friday, February 26.

Restrictions will revert back to the COVIDSafe summer settings that were in place at Christmas time.

Mr Andrews said the good news was able to be announced because of the work of the community.

“We can ease these restrictions with confidence… thanks to the efforts of every single Victorian,” Mr Andrews said.

Up to 100 people can attend public gatherings, and up to 30 people can visit a home in a day.

Face masks must be carried at all times. They are mandatory when inside retail stores where the space is 2000 square metres or more, including supermarkets, shopping centres, and hardware stores.

Face coverings must be worn when travelling on public transport or in a commercial passenger vehicle – such as a taxi or uber – or tour vehicle, when visiting a hospital and when visiting or working in a care facility.

Both the public and private sectors will be able to operate at 75 per cent capacity.
