Pop up recycling in Wollert

Get rid of your large flattened cardboard boxes, household batteries, printer cartridges, soft plastics and polystyrene at the Wollert Pop-up recycling drop off on Saturday, July 23.

From 11am to 1pm at the Ganbu Gulinj Community Centre, the event encourages residents to dispose of their recycling responsibly.

Whittlesea council reminded residents of items that will not be accepted on the day: e-waste and whitegoods.

“Drop off whitegoods, such as microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and clothes dryers, to Wollert Landfill, 55 Bridge Inn Road, Wollert for free recycling,” council said.

“Cameras, mobile phones, CDs, DVDs, video/VHS and audio cassette tapes, fluorescent light globes, X-rays, and small electrical appliances like iPods, electric toothbrushes and calculators (provided they fit into the slot) can be dropped at our Recycling Station at the Epping Depot, 68-96 Houston Street, Epping or Galada Community Centre, 10a Forum Way, Epping.

“If you cannot make these events, take your e-waste and whitegoods to the designated recycling skips at Hanson’s Wollert Landfill, 55 Bridge Inn Road, Wollert for free recycling.”
