Police search Darebin Creek Reserve over disappearance of Epping mother Ju Zhang

Police are searching an area of the Darebin Creek Reserve as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Epping mother Ju ‘Kelly’ Zhang.

Missing Persons Squad and Search and Rescue Squad teams are focusing on an area of the reserve near Seddon Reserve in Ivanhoe West.

Ms Zhang was last seen at her home on Winchester Avenue at 5.30pm Monday, February 1, wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers.

A 35-year-old Doncaster man was taken into custody last night at Melbourne airport in relation to Ms Zhang’s disappearance.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the Darebin Creek Reserve area on Monday, February 1 and Tuesday, February 2.

Investigators are also continuing to appeal for anyone who lives in the Epping, Doncaster and Ivanhoe West areas to check their CCTV footage and dashcam.

In particular they are looking for any footage which captures a black 2008 Mazda CX9 station wagon, with registration WKE 850, or a white Toyota Land Cruiser.

The vehicles are believed to potentially have travelled through these areas sometime between 4pm on February 1 and 8am on February 2.

Anyone who sights Ms Zhang is urged to contact triple-0 immediately.
