Police release CCTV after Coolaroo shooting

Police have released CCTV footage and are appealing for public assistance after a daylight shooting in Coolaroo earlier this month.

The incident unfolded about 4.10pm on Friday, April 11, when three men were standing outside a home on Pearson Crescent.

A black BMW X6 turned into the street from Kyabram Street before two armed men exited the vehicle and opened fire.

The victim, a 22-year-old Mickleham man, ran down a driveway and jumped a fence as shots were fired.

He later self-presented to a hospital in Epping with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his lower body.

The two men with him were uninjured.

The BMW fled the scene and was last seen travelling east along Barry Road in Campbellfield and then heading south on Sydney Road around 4.15pm.

The vehicle is yet to be located.

Investigators have released CCTV and an image of the vehicle, which was captured passing Upfield Railway Station around 4pm on the day of the shooting.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the vehicle or has information about the shooting or the BMW’S current whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

Information can be provided anonymously and the investigation remains ongoing.
