Police are investigating an assault and robbery which occurred in Doreen on January 1.
Investigators have been told a 23-year-old Doreen man was watching fireworks in the vicinity of Courthouse Walk between 12-12.30am when three men approached and asked him for a cigarette.
When the victim declined the men started to push and shove him.
The situation escalated and the victim was punched a number of times by the group before being forced to hand over a pouch of tobacco.
Police have been told the offenders left the scene and were last seen on Malmsbury Lane.
One of the offenders is perceived to be Caucasian with a tanned complexion, about 20-years-old with dark brown spikey hair and brown eyes.
At the time of the incident he was shirtless but wearing board shorts and thongs.
