Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in Lalor yesterday.
Officers have been told a 22-year-old man was taking out rubbish about 12.50am when he was attacked at the front of his property in Melton Grove.
Police said he was stabbed in the back before the attacker fled.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
