Police appeal for witnesses after Mernda axe attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened with an axe in Mernda earlier this month.

Investigators have been told a 45-year-old Melbourne man was in his vehicle and in traffic at the intersection of Bridge Inn and Plenty roads about 10.15am on Friday, July 13, when he was threatened.

Police said the man was approached by another man, who was a passenger in a white Toyota Hilux ute and who began threatening him with an axe.

The vitcim was not injured and drove off.
