Police are investigating the theft of an excavator drive unit from a building site in Wollert earlier this month.

In a statement on Eyewatch – Whittlesea Police Service Area Facebook page, police said that the building site on Yann Drive, Wollert, was accessed between the October 9-11, with the unit drive stolen from the site.

The unit is an ‘Auger Torque 65000’ valued at nearly $30,000 and police said it is believed that there are only a small number of these units within Victoria.

Anyone who has witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or believes they have seen the unit should contact Epping police on 9409 8100.
