Police appeal for help investigating Greenvale sexual assault

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was sexually assaulted in Greenvale earlier this month.

Fawkner Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating the assault which took place at 7.45pm on October 13, as a 25-year-old women was walking along a track on Kirkham Drive.

The woman was followed and then sexually assaulted by a man as she passed Kinloch Grove and headed towards Somerton Road.

The man ran off Kinloch Grove and was last seen running down Castlehill Avenue, police said.

The man is believed to be in his late teens or early twenties with a tanned complexion, and was wearing a black jacket with green inner, black T-shirt, grey pants with a stripe and black shoes.

Police have released CCTV of a man they believe may be able to help with their investigation.
