Police appeal for help identifying Thomastown armed robbers

Police are calling on public assistance to find two men involved in an armed robbery and stabbing in Thomastown on Saturday, May 28.

Entering a small supermarket store at 7.35pm, one of the offenders approached the shop attendant to purchase cigarettes.

Police allege that as the attendant retrieved the items the offender jumped the counter, punching the 60-year-old attendant multiple times, then stabbing him with a small edged weapon.

A second 32-year-old shop attendant who attempted to help was chased to the back of the store and stabbed in the arm.

Following the attacks, both offenders ran from the scene. The victims were treated in hospital for their injuries.
