Thrillseekers will soon have a new space to practice their ollies, flips and grinds, with construction under way on the extension of Whittlesea Skate Park.
According to Whittlesea council, the skate park upgrade will be “jam-packed” with new equipment to suit every skill level.
The extension will include an open bowl, fun box, quarter pipes, asphalt pump track and a street style section.
Council administrator, Chris Eddy said that the upgrade of Whittlesea Skate Park was co-designed with young residents to ensure that the local favourite will be enjoyed for many years to come.
“We’ve worked closely with local families to design a fun space where the young and young-at-heart can spend hours practicing new tricks,” Mr Eddy said.
“We’re creating an inviting space for the whole family, with the new shelter and social space the perfect place for your next catch-up.”
Construction of the Whittlesea Skate Park extension is expected to be complete in early 2022.
