One man charged after anti-hoon operation in northern suburbs

UPDATE

One man has been charged following a major anti-hoon operation in the northern suburbs on Monday.

Police executed early morning warrants at properties in Craigieburn, Dallas, Meadow Heights, Reservoir, Coburg and Mill Park.
Four people were arrested and four cars were seized.

A Coburg man, 28, was charged with conduct endangering life and bailed to appear in court at a later date.

A Campbellfield man, 18, a Bundoora man, 20, and a Coburg man, 22, were interviewed by police and released pending summonses.

The operation was run by the covert Taskforce Afectar, which was set up earlier this year in response to the increasing number of hoon gatherings across the north-western suburbs of Melbourne.

The taskforce, comprising detectives, highway patrol members and intelligence officers, works to disrupt gatherings and build an intelligence picture of hoon activities.
