The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is bringing its Kids on Tour program back to the northern suburbs this summer holidays.
Families can look forward to free, hands-on art-making activities at events across Hume and Whittlesea.
The Whittlesea Library hosts NGV Kids on 15 January, before Mill Park Library on 21 January .
NGV director Tony Ellwood said the tour will reach over 160 community venues across Victoria.
“‘Each year, NGV Kids on Tour grows in reach… and we are proud… that children and families everywhere can experience the joy of making art together.”
NGV Kids will also stop by Broadmeadows Library on 20 January and Tullamarine Library on 22 January .
Children and families will enjoy drawing workshops, art-making activities and fun party games, developed in collaboration with artists from around the world.
The tour features a suite of activities with a party theme, inspired by Danielle Brustman’s ‘Let’s Party! Fashion for Kids’.
An intergenerational drawing activity ‘What’s New?’ encourages kids to chat with adults and draw how life has changed over the years.
Olaf Breuning is running interactive storytimes and guided drawing activities as part of In Nature and Us.
Teens can design their own perfume as part of ‘Perfume in the 1700s’, which teaches them perfume history.
