A new kinder will open at The Lakes South Morang College in 2026.
The state government announced that an additional eight new kinders will open from term 1, 2026 at eight local schools
These new kinders will be built in communities where there is high demand, creating more than 1,000 additional places for local children.
The new sites mean that there will be 21 new kinds to open in 2026, with an additional 20 opening in 2025.
Premier Jacinta Allen said the construction of more kinders helps everyone in the family, not just the students.
“Every parent knows mornings can be chaotic. It’s why we’re making things that little bit easier – making drop-offs faster and simpler with more kinders on school sites right across the state,” she said.
“Today’s (Friday) announcement will give local families with little ones confidence, they can rely on a great kinder close to home.”
