A new early learning centre is being built for residents of Donnybrook and will be ready to take on new enrolments in 2022.
The new two-room kindergarten is being built on the site of Hume Anglican Grammar and will increase capacity for kinder children in the area by 132 places.
The kindergarten will provide indoor and outdoor learning environments, as well as aid the demand for additional places as part of the state government’s three-year-old kindergarten reform and increasing population growth.
Yan Yean MP Danielle Green said: “We are investing in the educational future of our next generation of learners to ensure they can access the best education close to home in Donnybrook”.
Early Childhood Minister Ingrid Stitt said the state government is delivering “unprecedented investment in the first years of our kids’ education.”
“Creating more places for children to attend kindergarten and ensuring they have access to the best facilities across Victoria is vital to making sure they receive a world-class education in the early years,” she said.
The new kindergarten is being delivered with City of Whittlesea and will be built using modular construction.
