More Victorians will be given the skills to identify and respond to gender inequality and family violence, with two new courses added to the Victorian government’s Free TAFE program from 2022.
Training and Skills Minister Gayle Tierney said the new courses are gender equity and identifying and responding to family violence risk.
“We’re making TAFE and training more accessible to ensure Victorians have the skills they need – these courses are particularly important in strengthening gender equity and preventing family violence,” she said.
Minster for Women and Prevention of Family Violence Gabrielle Williams said: “These new courses will be vital in supporting efforts to promote gender equality in all settings, driving the cultural change that will help us to achieve a Victoria free from violence”.
Seven other free TAFE courses will also be added next year, including in veterinary nursing, tourism and health and aged care to meet key government priority areas and skills demands while also boosting the Victorian economy.
