Donnybrook families will soon have easier access to child care, with a new early learning centre planned for the suburb.
The Olivine Wallaby Early Learning Centre will offer care for 120 children and will be built adjacent to Hume Anglican Grammar’s Donnybrook campus, with the proposed Hayes Hill Primary School opposite.
Mirvac Victoria residential general manager Elysa Anderson said the centre was a part of the developer’s plan for an education precinct.
“Along with the opening of Hume Anglican Grammar’s Donnybrook campus in 2019 and the proposed Hayes Hill State Primary School, the Olivine Wallaby Early Learning Centre will be located within Olivine’s education precinct and forms part of our commitment to providing access to quality and affordable education, as well as lifelong learning opportunities,” she said.
“We are focused on reimagining urban life in Melbourne’s north and the future childcare centre… follows the successful delivery of Hume Anglican Grammar’s Donnybrook Campus in 2019, as well as the Gumnut Park & Adventure Playground and Shared Cup social enterprise café in 2020.”
Children six weeks to five years of age will be catered for at the centre, with specialised kindergarten teacher, early-years trained carers and qualified chefs on the menu.
Spacious dedicated rooms for all ages, a commercial kitchen, as well as indoor and outdoor learning and play spaces will be on offer.
The centre is scheduled to open in early 2023, pending planning approval.
