Mernda and Wollert residents will have improved access to schools, shops and work, with a new bus route launching later this month.
Route 390 will launch on October 31 and will run from Mernda station to Craigieburn station via Wollert.
Buses will run every 30 minutes during weekday peak times and at 40 minute intervals at non-peak times and on weekends.
The new route connects Mernda to the Craigieburn train line for the first time and will pass close to Mernda Central P-12 College and Gilson College (Mernda campus).
The new route was part of a 2018 state election pledge by Labor.
At the time, Thomastown MP Bronwyn Halfpenny said the new route would better connect Wollert families with public transport.
“For families living in Wollert, this will make a real difference, making it faster and easier to get where they’re going,” she said.
The full timetable is now available at www.ptv.vic.gov.au and on the journey planner app.
