More arrests for Mill Park arson

Two children have been charged for the attempted arson in Mill Park in February.

On Thursday, February 27 at about 3.40am, there was attempted arson at a Mill Park restaurant on The Link.

A 14-year-old Mulgrave boy and a 16-year-old Pakenham girl were both charged with one count of attempted arson on Wednesday.

The duo will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

On March 2, the Mulgrave boy was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The charges relate to an aggravated burglary in Wonga Park between 10pm on Monday, February 19 and 7am on Tuesday, February 20, and an arson attack at a tobacconist on Sturt Street, Ballarat around 3.35am on Wednesday, February 28.

The Pakenham girl had been charged with two counts of criminal damage by fire, conduct endangering life, conduct endangering serious injury and theft of a motor vehicle.

Eight children have now been arrested, with a total of six charged.
