Mini firetrucks, big impact

In a heartwarming collaboration, the Whittlesea Men’s Shed and the Arthurs Creek Strathewen CFA have joined forces to create two handcrafted miniature fire trucks, sparking joy– and safety awareness–in young hearts.

The unique mini engines, built from scratch by members of the men’s shed, are powered by fire hoses and designs specifically for children to propel along, offering an interactive and hands-on fire safety experience.

President of the Whittlesea Men’s Shed, Eric Gunstone, said the project was a natural fit for the team of passionate volunteers.

“We were thrilled to undertake this project for the Arthurs Creek Strathewen CFA, as we deeply appreciate the vital work done by their volunteers to protect our community,” Mr Gunstone said.

“Many of our past and present members have also served in the CFA , making this partnership especially meaningful.”

He said the project allowed members to blend woodworking and electrical skills to create something special.

“We hope that when brigade members visit local primary schools, these small trucks will bring joy and inspiration to all involved for years to come.”

Arthurs Creek Strathewen CFA Lieutenant Lisal O’Brien said the brigade was “delighted with the exceptional work.”

“These mini fire trucks will help us promote fire safety and highlight the CFA’s critical role in protecting our local communities,” Ms O’Brien said.

“We look forward to further collaboration with a fantastic group of blokes.”
