Million Paws walk to raise money for RSPCA

SUZY KOLEVSKI AND PEPPER (Joe Mastroianni).

Epping’s Suzy Kolevski credits her dog, Pepper, with saving her life.

A year ago, Ms Kolevski was in hospital recovering from a brain bleed.

She says the following months were one of the darkest times in her life, but it was Pepper who helped her through the lows.

“I had a very sad year and so I got a puppy. She has saved my life,” Ms Kolevski said.

“I’m still recovering and still have a lot of surgeries to go but I am doing OK.”

Next month, Ms Kolevski and Pepper will be taking part in the RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk, in recognition of dogs’ roles as man’s best friend.

The annual walk raises money for the RSPCA to help fund its work to prevent animal cruelty.

“I’m doing the walk for Pepper. Animals will never hurt you,” Ms Kolevski said.

The Million Paws Walk will be held at Albert Park Lake and Yan Yean Reservoir on Sunday, May 20.
