Mill Park man charged over alleged hit run in Epping

A man is in a critical condition in hospital following an alleged hit-run in Epping.

It is believed the man, 26, was crossing the road at traffic lights on High Street about 8pm yesterday when he was struck by a vehicle.

He suffered multiple injuries.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Mill park man, attended Epping police station after the collision and he was arrested.

He has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, driving unlicensed, failing to stop and failing to render assistance.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne magistrates court today.
