Police have impounded a Mernda man’s bike after receiving multiple reports from the community of allegedly dangerous driving.
Police said the public reported the same motorbike driving dangerously along Bridge Inn Road every day about 7am.
On Thursday, January 12, police reported the motorbike failed to stop for them and fled at high speed after being detected riding at 116 km/h on the wrong side of the road.
Multiple police units were already lying-in wait, and a short time later the bike was followed and tracked into an address.
The rider, a 21-year-old Mernda man, had his bike impounded at a cost of $896 and is expected to be charged for driving in a dangerous manner, driving at a speed, and evading police.
Anybody with recent dash camera footage of the bike is asked to contact the Mernda Police Station on 9216 1200.
