A man was taken to hospital last night after being shot in the stomach in Broadmeadows on Tuesday afternoon.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, called emergency services from a Hungry Jacks restaurant in Sydney Road.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Senior Constable Adam West said police believe the victim was involved in an altercation on Northcorp Boulevard around 2.30pm before he was shot.
The gunman is still at large.
