Man rushed to hospital after an alleged shooting in Broadmeadows

Detectives are appealing for information after a non-fatal shooting outside a residence in Broadmeadows on May 25.

Investigators have been told a male exited a dark coloured hatch parked near the intersections of Walsh Street and Ortolan Avenue, before walking down Ortolan Avenue and firing two shots from a firearm at approximately 10.15pm.

A 20-year-old Broadmeadows man received an upper body gunshot wound and was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No other people were physically injured.

The offender returned to the dark coloured hatch and fled the scene, turning right into Camp Road.

Police believe it was a targeted attack.

Investigators want to speak to the driver of a white delivery truck which drove past the dark coloured hatch while it was parked on Walsh Street at the time of the incident.

Police are also urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Walsh Street, Ortolan Avenue or Camp Road in Broadmeadows between 9.45pm and 10.30pm on Wednesday, May 25, and who has dashcam footage, to come forward.

Anyone with information or with dashcam footage of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
