An 80-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Wollert.
The 77-year-old woman was found dead at a Saltlake Boulevard about 6.30am on Sunday 25 January.
Police responded to reports of the woman being unresponsive, and declared her deceased when they arrived at the scene.
They arrested the man at the scene and later charged him with one count of murder.
The man will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning, 26 January.
The parties were known to each other.
