Man charged over burglaries

A man has been charged with 54 offences following a number of retail burglaries across Melbourne.

Police arrested a 40-year-old Heidelberg Heights man in Kew on Tuesday in relation to an ongoing investigation.

The burglaries occurred between January 26 and February 15 at several locations across the city, including Keilor Downs, Bundoora, Campbellfield, Braybrook, Caroline Springs and Yarraville.

The man faces charges including burglary, theft and committing indictable offences whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
