Man charged following alleged Mickleham shooting

A man has been charged following an alleged non-fatal shooting in Mickleham on Thursday.

Police said the 30-year-old Mickleham man was arrested in the CBD on Friday, November 19.

He was charged with 28 charges including attempted murder, intentionally causing injury and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

The man has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

Police said they have been unable to locate his vehicle, believed to be a gold Mercedes Sedan E Class (early 2000s model) with significant damage to the front.

Detectives have released images of the Mercedes sedan and are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage or CCTV around Hockley Avenue in Mickleham or Transit Drive in Campbellfield to come forward.

The charges follow an incident where a 31-year-old Mickleham man was allegedly shot in his vehicle on Hockley Avenue, Mickleham, just before 8am on Thursday, November 18.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the vehicle should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
