Man charged after threats made in Coolaroo and drugs located

Police have charged a man following an incident in Coolaroo earlier this week.

The Craigieburn man has been charged with 25 offences including trafficking various drugs, possess controlled weapon, possess dangerous article, possess equipment for trafficking and possess prohibited weapon following the incident in Motto Drive on Monday.

The charges follow reports a man was behaving erratically and was allegedly threatening members of the public with a knife in the vicinity of a youth centre about 5.50pm.

Officers deployed a taser and arrested the man who got out of a vehicle allegedly armed with a knife.

As part of the investigation detectives also executed a search warrant at a property on Botanic Rise in Craigieburn on Tuesday.

A commercial quantity of drugs and weapons were seized.

The man was remanded appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The incident is not being treated as a religiously motivated incident.
