Man arrested after Epping collision

Police arrested a man after he evaded police in an allegedly stolen car and collided with a vehicle in Epping.

The man evaded police in an allegedly stolen Toyota Prado which was first seen stationary on Waratah Street in Ascot Vale about 10.20am on Tuesday 14 October.

The driver allegedly collided with a police van before driving off onto Mount Alexander Road.

Police followed the Prado as it was seen driving erratically through Brunswick, Carlton and Heidelberg, before allegedly colliding with another car in Epping near the intersection of Somerton Road and Biodiversity Road, rolling several times.

Police then arrested the 27-year-old Heidelberg West man who was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Toyota Prado was allegedly stolen from Essendon Railway Station around 11.30am Tuesday morning.
