Make the digital switch for your rates

Whittlesea ratepayers are encouraged to make the digital switch when it comes to receiving their rates notices.

The newly introduced option is convenient, free and allows residents to access their notices electronically – anytime and anywhere.

With rates notices due to be sent out in the coming weeks, now is the perfect time to register for digital delivery. Once signed up, ratepayers will be able to view and download their notice from a personal device, eliminating the wait for mail and reducing paper use.

In addition to the convenience of digital delivery, ratepayers can also take advantage of flexible, interest-free payment plans. These plans can be set up with weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly direct debit payments, offering a manageable way to stay on top of a budget throughout the financial year.

Whittlesea chief executive Craig Lloyd highlighted the importance of offering residents more choice and convenience.

“We are committed to providing our rate payers with options when it comes to receiving and paying their rates,” he said.

“Receiving your notices electronically means it will be delivered directly to your inbox and you can have access to it anytime you need it. Ratepayers also have the option of setting up their own payment schedule, giving you more flexibility in how you pay your rates.”

For residents facing financial challenges, Whittlesea has further support available. The recently updated Financial Hardship Policy provides assistance options such as payment deferrals, waivers of interest and debt collection fees, and help connecting to support services.

Council remains committed to supporting the community and ensuring that all residents can manage their rates in a way that works for them.
