Work has begun on a major upgrade to the pavilion at Lakeside Reserve in Roxburgh Park, aiming to improve facilities for players, officials, and the wider community.
The project will deliver new female-friendly change rooms, officials’ facilities. Accessible amenities, a first aid room, and a store room.
Funded through a $500,000 investment from the state government and more than $1.75 million from Hume council, the redevelopment is expected to be completed by early 2026.
Greenvale MP Iwan Walters welcomed the investment, highlighting its benefits for local sporting groups.
“This upgrade will give footy and cricket clubs the facilities they need to grow while creating a fantastic community hub for sports and events,” he said.
The state government has also contributed $112,000 for new pitch lighting at Arena Recreation Reserve to support night training and competitions.
Kalkallo MP Ros Spence said the upgrade will cater to growing participation in local sport.
“The new pavilion will give clubs room to grow, providing even more community members the chance to join in the fun.”
