An Epping man who had a “feeling” he would win the lotto has started his week more than $455,000 richer.
The man is one of nine division one winners from the TattsLotto draw on Saturday, February 24.
Five of the winners were Victorians.
The Epping man said he had a special feeling when he put on his ticket.
“I was on the way to work, and I thought to myself, I’d better not forget to put on the lotto because I had a special feeling I would win,” he said.
“I have been playing these numbers for a long time. I used my family’s birth dates to mark my entry but as I played a System 7, I needed an extra number, so I [used] my grandson’s age, not birth date and it was it.”
The man, who bought his ticket at Plenty Luck News and Lotto in Preston, plans to use the money to pay off his mortgage.
“The rest I can keep and in another year I’ll retire. I will wait a little while and then go away on holiday to Portugal,” he said.
The six winning numbers were 5, 19, 1, 30, 14 and 15, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 28.
