Lotto love: Campbellfield dad wins $200K and plans a brighter future for his son

Cue the confetti and crank up the celebrations– Campbellfield has a new lottery legend.

A local dad is kicking off the week with a life-changing win after bagging the $200,000 first prize in Monday’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

For this hardworking father, the unexpected windfall is all about setting his family up for a brighter future.

The Melbourne man, who purchased his winning entry at Campbellfield Lucky Lotto in the Campbellfield Plaza, couldn’t believe his eyes when he checked his ticket at work.

“Oh my goodness! I had to do a double take when checking my ticket,” he said.

“I’m at work at the moment, so I’m trying my best to contain my excitement.”

With his new found fortune, the Campbellfield dad said his first priority was his son’s education.

The win has come at the best–we’re trying to put my son through school,” he said.

“It’ll also take a solid chunk out of the mortgage,” he said. “Happy days for us. I can’t wait to surprise my wife with the news.”

Campbellfield Lucky Lotto owner Wendy Guo said the store was buzzing with excitement.

“We’re so happy to hear the good news,” she said.

“It’s always special to know we can help change someone’s life for the better.’

Ms Guo’s outlet has sold five division one winning entries in the past five years–including two in the same week last year.
