Lalor man charged over damage to Epping police station

A Lalor man who allegedly caused damaged to Epping police station in three separate incidents last month has been charged by police.

The man, 27, is facing 11 charges.

Police allege the man deliberately crashed his car into the illuminated sign at Epping police station about 11.30pm on July 13, causing the sign to topple and fall across the footpath.

He is then alleged to have driven a vehicle into the police station carpark on July 22, crashing into security gates and a parked car before fleeing.

Victoria Police spokesman Senior Constable Alistair Parsons said the man allegedly threw bricks through two windows at the police station, narrowly missing police members, on July 25.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Heidelberg magistrates court on August 4.
