Lalor man charged for nicking knickers

A Lalor man has been charged following the theft of women’s underwear from balconies in Richmond.

Several residents of an apartment building in Lennox Street had reported their underwear stolen from clotheshorses left on their balconies.

The first pair went missing on Boxing Day and the thefts continued until last Saturday.

One woman said she had 20 pairs nicked during this time.

Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have charged the 35-year-old Lalor man with four counts of theft and three counts of stalking on Wednesday night.

Sergeant Anthoula Moutis said he has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on May 27.
