Labor MPs re-elected in Calwell, McEwen and Scullin

Labor has retained its seats in Whittlesea and Hume, with MPs Maria Vamvakinou, Rob Mitchell and Andrew Giles all re-elected on Saturday night.

As of 9.30pm on Saturday, Ms Vamvakinou had secured 71 per cent of the two candidate preferred vote in Calwell, with just over a third of votes counted.

Ms Vamvakinou has held Calwell, which takes in all of Hume except Sunbury, since 2001.

In McEwen, Mr Mitchell has 57 per cent of the two candidate preferred vote, with 41 per cent of votes counted.

McEwen takes in the Whittlesea township, Doreen, Humevale, Eden Park, Woodstock and parts of Wollert and Mernda, and has been held by Mr Mitchell since 2010.

Mr Giles has close to 75 per cent of the two candidate preferred vote in Scullin, with 42 per cent of the vote counted.

He has held Scullin since 2013. The seat takes in Epping, Thomastown, Lalor, Mill Park and parts of Bundoora and Wollert.
