Past and present families and educators are being encouraged to share their memories of McLeans Road Kindergarten ahead of the construction of a bigger kinder later this year.
Whittlesea council will soon start building a two-room kindergarten on the Bundoora site, replacing the single room, 40-year-old facility.
The kinder currently accommodates only 30 children. Once the centre is rebuilt, it will be able to provide kindergarten for 66 children.
The new kindergarten is expected to open in 2022.
According to the council, McLeans Road Kindergarten was built in 1977 and has provided preschool to generations of families.
Anyone with photos, newsletters, newspaper article or other gems that showcase the history of the kindergarten are urged to share them with the council.
Submissions will form part of a memory board and one or more of the materials will be on display at the new facility.
Email your submission to kinderplanning@whittlesea.vic.gov.au by June 19.
